THE TAIL OF TWO CITIES

THE TAIL OF TWO CITIES THE TAIL OF TWO CITIES The poet has described the fatal atomic attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the two cities of Japan in his poem “A Tale of Two Cities”. The people were living beings. But they were all killed in a moment. Americans violated the human rights. They showed their barbarism and cruelties. They had no logic no reason and no justification for that mass destruction. The poet says that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were totally destroyed in a moment by the sudden atomic attacks of America. Everything was burnt and the people were mercilessly killed. No body could see that dreadful destruction. Nobody came to share their pains and sufferings. No one came to rescue them. All was done by a cruel nation with its wild passions. They did not care for human rights. They ignored the basic norms of humanity. But the victims were great. Attitude

Important Attitude IMPORTANCE OF ATTITUDE Building a positive attitude There was a man who made a living selling balloons at a fair. He had all colors of balloons, including red, yellow, blue, and green. Whenever business was slow, he would release a helium-filled balloon into the air and when the children saw it go up, they all wanted to buy one. They would come up to him, buy a balloon, and his sales would go up again. He continued this process all day. One day, he felt someone tugging at his jacket. He turned around and saw a little boy who asked, "If you release a black balloon, would that also fly?" Moved by the boy's concern, the man replied with empathy, "Son, it is not the color of the balloon, it is what is inside that makes it go up." The same thing applies to our lives. It is what is inside that counts. The thing inside of us that makes us go up is our attitude. Have you ever wonde...

Others diners watched him in disgust while his son was calm. After he finished eating, his son who was not at all embarrassed, quietly took him to the wash room, wiped the food particles, removed the stains, combed his hair and fitted his spectacles firmly. When they came out, the entire restaurant was watching them in dead silence, not able to grasp how someone could embarrass themselves publicly like that. The son settled the bill and started walking out with his father. At that time, an old man amongst the diners called out to the son and asked him, “Don’t you think you have left something behind?”. The son replied, “No sir, I haven’t”. The old man retorted, “Yes, you have! You left a lesson for every son and hope for every fathe...
